A deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub, to 3m tall and wide, with glossy green leaves, up to 15cm long, that turn yellow-brown in autumn. From late spring into summer 'Venus' bears large, scented, magnolia-like, creamy-white flowers with yellow and purple central markings.
